52 improvements, 52 weeks: Week 48 – Advent Calendars

We have had many lovely improvements this year and to help with the countdown to Christmas Day we thought it would be lovely for all colleagues to have an advent calendar.

An Advent calendar is used to count the days of Advent in anticipation of Christmas. Since the date of the First Sunday of Advent varies, falling between 27th November and 3rd December many Advent calendars often begin on 1st December. Often the doors are distributed across the calendar in no particular order. The calendar windows open to reveal an image, a poem, a portion of a story (such as the story of the Nativity of Jesus), or a small gift, such as a toy or a chocolate item.

We hope you enjoy your advent calendar and if you leave it at the nursery in the staff room, Mondays will be great with 3 chocolate treats or eat them early on Fridays!
