
Staff and children at Tops Gillingham, located at Middlefield House on Marlott Road, are elated to commemorate a commendable rating of ‘GOOD’ from Ofsted following their recent inspection.
Tops Gillingham Day Nursery & Preschool is devoted to delivering a high standard of Early Education and Care for all children. The establishment takes pride in fostering a secure, family-centred environment that mirrors its dedication to excellence.
As per the Ofsted report, “Welcoming and affable staff greet both children and parents upon arrival. Children settle in swiftly and display enthusiasm in exploring meticulously designed activities provided by the staff. Strong bonds between children and staff are evident, and children demonstrate a sense of safety and security in their surroundings. For instance, infants share giggles and smiles during their morning snack.”
The report also highlights that, “Children possess excellent knowledge about maintaining their health. Older children, for instance, discuss the nutritional value of foods and the impact of sugar on their teeth. Staff educate children on oral hygiene and assist them in daily teeth brushing. Physical activity is actively encouraged throughout the day, with a focus on imparting an understanding of its effects on the body.”
The inspector noted, “Children display notable independence. They pour their own water from designated stations and utilize mirrors and tissues for personal care. Collaborating closely with parents, staff aid in toilet training efforts. They provide stimulating toys and reading material to facilitate parents’ involvement in this process at home.”
“Parents express great satisfaction with the diverse range of activities offered by the staff and the notable progress their children achieve. The friendly and accessible demeanor of the staff is particularly appreciated. Parents value the guidance, advice, and resources extended by the staff to bolster their children’s learning at home. Strong ties exist between staff and local schools, fostering a seamless transition for children entering school.”
