We were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Havant, Councillor Munazza Faiz, who joined us to cut the ribbon and officially open our new preschool. The Mayor shared her admiration for the thoughtful layout, highlighting how each room has been designed to reflect different aspects of daily life : a kitchen, sitting room, and toy room. It helps children naturally develop essential life skills and values such as caring and sharing before they start school. She described our new preschool as “an asset to the community,” which filled us with pride.
Adding to the celebrations, Havant & Waterlooville Football Club brought their energy to the day with a lively mini football session for our preschool children. The players, along with the club’s Commercial Manager and Team Manager, led an active, engaging session that introduced basic football skills and teamwork in a safe, playful environment.
We were also thrilled to be joined by local author Jonah Rideout, who treated the children to a story session from his book A Rubbish Journey. Through his under‑the‑sea adventure, he shared an important message about marine life and the impact of litter on our oceans. This is a theme that closely aligns with our own focus on sustainability and environmental awareness here at Tops.
To round off the day, our Catering Team prepared a delicious selection of food for staff, guests, and families to enjoy. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the success of the opening and to celebrate everything this new space represents for our children and the wider community.
This new preschool is a true reflection of our ongoing commitment to providing a warm, stimulating, and forward‑thinking environment where every child can learn, play, and thrive. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created and can’t wait to see our preschool in full swing in the weeks and months ahead.
We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Mayor of Havant, Havant & Waterlooville Football Club, Jonah Rideout, and our dedicated Tops Havant team for helping to make this such a memorable occasion.
If you’d like to see our new preschool for yourself and find out how we can support your little one’s early years journey, we’d love to welcome you for a visit.
