This Christmas is certainly not going to be like any other Christmas we have had and many children may be struggling to cope knowing that things still aren’t back to normal. We have put together a list of Covid themed Christmas books for children to help support them through the festive season.

Robin’s Covid-20 Christmas
A charming children’s Christmas book about a robin redbreast with ideas to help manage our first Covid-19 Christmas. We have all been confused this year and children are finding it difficult to understand all of the ripple effects of the pandemic. It is full of bright coloured illustrations and stories and is very happy and fun. A proportion of the proceeds will also be donated to support the vital work of Hope and Homes for Children.

The One Where Santa Wore a Mask Over Christmas
A positive and uplifting book with a subtle message that wearing masks is only a temporary thing and not the “new normal”. Christmas is a time for magic, love and fun and this year is no exception.

Covi, The Little Christmas Dinosaur
Covi is a little green dinosaur who came to help the children when the world was locked down. Helpful, kind, fun and courageous – little Covi may be small but he has a huge spirit! The book tells the tale of the locked-down Christmas of 2020.

A Coronavirus Christmas
“Christmas is coming, but it’s different this year. Will it still be merry and full of holiday cheer? The pandemic has changed things, we know this is true. But the spirit of Christmas will ALWAYS shine through!” It is important to help children understand how to stay safe, wear masks, social distance and protect loved ones but what kids want more than anything is the joy of Christmas fun! That is what this book is all about.

The Christmas We Spent Apart
A fantastic way to explain this Christmas to children and let them enjoy personalising and crafting for their loved ones with this Covid themed Christmas poem book. “It may have kept us apart this December, but we can still make it a Christmas to remember.”

The North Pole Lockdown
A fun, rhyming Christmas tale about how a community came together, even though they had to stay 2 meters apart. A mystery virus is spreading the globe, the toy factory has been closed, and the elves have been told to work from home. Luckily, Santa has a plan and with a little bit of hard work and some social distancing, he’s confident the North Pole can save Christmas!

Elf-isolation
Covid-19 has affected the way we all live today, including Santa and his elves at the North Pole. Lockdown has forced Santa’s workshop to close. How will all the children’s presents be ready in time for Christmas Day? Santa doesn’t want you to worry about this so he sent a special elf named Cotton Bottom to our house. Cotton Bottom has told me all about the work going on at the North Pole to make sure you get your presents safely.

Covid Christmas Parade
It’s almost Christmas in the year 2020. That means no traveling or big parties. Will social distancing ruin the magic of Christmas? James is determined to bring back his town’s Christmas cheer. Come along on a holiday adventure sure to make history.

Even Reindeer Wear Masks
This year, everything is different. Humans wear masks to keep each other safe, and so does Santa! He’s told his reindeer to put on masks, but will they do what he said? Join Santa on his journey as he delivers his presents and makes an unexpected friend.
