Tops Parkstone is currently undergoing garden maintenance work, revamping the layout to create a natural, fun environment for the children to explore. Opened in 1990, Tops Parkstone has seen huge improvements to the nursery; including expanding into a second building, a complete refurbishment and brand new resources.
There are lots of fantastic ideas that have been put into place to feature in the garden, including a sensory path, new mud kitchen, story corner and a bug hotel. Tom King, Project Manager at Tops Day Nurseries designed the garden and has been working hard each day to complete the task.
“Tops Parkstone has a large outdoor space with a huge amount of potential. The new garden has been designed for children of all ages to enjoy and relish in their new unique space. We have completely transformed the layout of the garden, creating new paths, levels and communication friendly spaces in the hope the children will find it more engaging and exciting. The progress has been good so far, with the landscaping done, it’s the finer touches that need to be wrapped up. It’s been really rewarding designing and creating the new garden in the hope it’ll result in the children having more fun whilst using the garden and get better use from the space.” Tom King, Project Manager.
At Tops Day Nurseries, we believe it is important for children to be able to access outside areas each day; As the garden had previously been split into three sections, children have been able to continue playing outside and have loved being able to watch Tom as he progresses.
Stephanie Walker, Nursery Manager of Tops Parkstone said “I am really excited to see the finished garden. The plan Tom has put in place really is amazing and I can’t wait for the children to be able to explore the new area.”
Tops Parkstone hope to open their garden to both new and existing parents, giving them the opportunity to view the fantastic new space once it has been completed.
