We have launched an exciting new club, called Hi5’s Forest School!

Hi5’s Forest School is a way for your child to have fun and learn whilst being outside. They will receive a free backpack upon enrolment and can earn a variety of badges for completing activities!
So, what is Hi5’s Forest School?
Good question, Hi5’s Forest School is holistic learning through play and exploration; children learn about the natural environment, how to handle risks and to use their own initiative to solve problems and cooperate with others.
The philosophy and roots of the Forest Schools movement can be traced through several sources as far back as the 19th century. A 13 month study of Swedish children found that Forest School children were far happier to their urban cousins. Ultimately, the children were more balanced with greater social capacity, fewer sick days, more able to concentrate and have better co-ordination, higher self-esteem, build self‐confidence and be able to work as part of a team.
We have already incorporated Tops Forest School into most of our nurseries but we wanted to include it within our Hi5 club with extra special benefits!
So what will the children be up to during Hi5’s Forest School?
Another great question! During Hi5’s Forest School children may build a shelter, light a fire, and use green woodworking skills to create and build objects from the woodland around them. Hi 5 Forest School sessions will be fully packed with exciting activities and learning experiences from 8am- 6pm. So, you can be sure they will be ready for bed by the end of the day…making your life stress-free!
Free Backpack upon enrollment and badges the children can earn!
Did someone say a freebie? Yes, you heard it right…Upon enrolment your little one will receive a free backpack which they can earn badges to sew onto. The badges demonstrate the skills and knowledge they have gained whist on Hi5 Forest School. We are starting with 3 badges and will introduce more to the collection as the sessions progress and grow. Below are the badges and you can click here to learn more about how your little ones can earn these badges.
Every session will have a different topic and loose planned activities. For example, building dens, spotting birds, identifying flowers, pond dipping, den building, whittling campfires or climbing trees.
To finish the session, we will all have a moment to reflect on the day and share what we enjoyed or how we are feeling.
