“I joined the company in July 1999 as an apprentice and I have been part of the Tops family all of my working life. I have very strong, fond memories of Cheryl and particularly of Maria.
Parkstone was the only Tops Day Nursery back then. I can remember walking the children from the nursery down to Cheryl’s house for swimming, getting changed in the shed in the garden. Tutorials back then were held in Cheryl’s dining room, and Cheryl usually had a dog under one arm and Jenny, her daughter under the other. She would always play the piano at the Christmas service!
I can truly say I have achieved what I have today thanks to Cheryl and Maria’s perseverance and patience with me and they clearly saw some potential! You obviously looked deep!
Without Cheryl’s passion to develop the company, I don’t believe I would have achieved what I have. I completed my Level 2 and Level 3 in childcare, as well as all my assessing qualifications-A1, V1, PTTLS, CTTLS!
I have hit all my growing-up milestones of engagement, marriage, children, mortgage and all the grey areas in between, and I can honestly say through all of this Tops and Aspire have been my constant support.
I have gone from a fresh-faced apprentice to a wiser manager and could spend all day writing my 15 years of memories and experiences I have had!
I may not get the opportunity to actually put all this down in writing again to show how grateful I am for what you have done for me, so thank you Cheryl. I am proud to have been part of the last 15 years and hope to enjoy the next!”
