Lucky nursery had a visit from the National Nursery Manager of the year award winner

Tops Day Nurseries in Southsea had a visit from this years’ Nursery Manager of the Year award winner, Hannah Jennings. Hannah was awarded this prestigious award at the Nursery Management Today (NMT) National award ceremony in November having been awarded from a vast number of applications spanning a sector with more than 25,000 nurseries.

Hannah is the Nursery Manager of Tops Newport, based at the Isle of Wight College. Her colleagues nominated her for the award due to her continued passion and enthusiasm to create stimulating learning environments and her unmatched dedication to children’s development.

During her visit to Tops Southsea Hannah helped the team revitalise all their rooms. She brought her knowledge and expertise and supported the Southsea team to play to their strengths to design and set up each new area and create an overall vision for what they wanted to achieve. With the use of some authentic and new resources they managed to create a brand-new environment for the setting to be enjoyed by the children that attend.

Following her visit to Tops Southsea, Hannah said, “The nursery is a beautiful old house with wonderful fireplaces, so we really wanted to utilise the uniqueness of the building. We implemented a lovely sensory area, a role play area with real life objects for the children to use as this supports their imagination, social skills, and the extension of vocabulary. We also created an area for malleable play to support the children in their fine motor skills as well as some communication friendly spaces to allow the children to get cosy with books and their key person”.

At Tops Day Nurseries we take children from 3 months to pre-school age so we are here for you whenever you’re ready. We have over 30 nurseries across the South so you are sure to find the one that suits you and your family.
