The Lakeside North Harbour business campus is launching their very own Wild in Art Animal Arts Trail with over 10 brightly decorated animals, both native and from around the world. Children at Tops Lakeside were very lucky to be asked to work on a design to decorate a small fibreglass baby elephant.
Pre-School and Investigators spent two days working with Paul and Clare from Splodge Designs, a local community arts company, to come up with a design for the baby elephant. The brief allowed children to explore shape, pattern and colour, they had great fun drawing different patterns and discussing which ones they liked the most.
The children each spent time creating a pattern of their choice before deciding on one final design, a mouse within cheese before helping to paint the elephant which will form part of The Lakeside Animal Arts trail.
