May brings National Walking Month to Tops Day Nurseries Head Office, who will be holding a ‘Walking Lunch’ challenge.
Fitting in even the smallest of walks during your lunch break is proven to have benefits for both your physical and mental health. That’s why during May as part of Living Streets National Walking month, Hadland Care Group, head office for Tops Day Nurseries, Aspire Training Team and Reside Care Homes is taking part in the ‘Walking Lunch’ which is encouraging colleagues to reclaim their lunch break, get active and try to walk for twenty minutes in the middle of the day.
A tracking grid has been issued to each department to enable teams to record when they have completed their 20 minute walk. The department with the highest percentage of walks completed across the month will receive a prize!
Below are just 8 benefits of walking each day;
- Strengthens your heart
- Lowers disease risk
- Helps you lose weight
- Prevents dementia
- Tones up legs, bums and tums
- Boosts vitamin D
- Gives you energy
- Makes you happy
