Welcome to Tops Day Nurseries: Babbacombe Nursery, Torbay

Babbacombe day nursery & preschool in Torbay provide Early Education and Care for children from 3 months – preschool age and also features a Hi 5’s before school and after school club for school children up to the age of 8.

Upstairs we have a beautiful baby and toddler room filled with real, natural resources for the children to explore. We have a separate sleep room to allow routines from home to be followed within the nursery. We also have children’s toilets attached to the room to cater for those potty training, who may be following the Potty Training Academy program.

Downstairs, we have a fantastic preschool filled with treasures, activities, books, crafts and more. The children have free-flow access to the large garden from the preschool, where they can play, climb, dig and roam throughout the day.

Additional Care
Tops Devonport no longer offers a Hi5’s Holiday Club but instead will be offering additional care outside the scheduled hours at the nursery’s standard hourly rate.

Located for easy access whether you’re traveling into or out of Torquay, our Babbacombe nursery benefits from being a crab walk away from an unbroken shoreline, complete with a winding, wooded walk down Oddicombe Beach Hill, and the scenic Coast Path.

Located on the main Babbacombe road, the children have the opportunity to explore areas throughout Babbacombe and Torbay. Children at our day nursery also benefit from weekly visits to our local care home, where they take part in our joining generations program.

At Tops Day Nurseries our aim is for all children to meet or exceed expected development for their age. We are implementing ‘SchemaPlay’ across all of our settings to help narrow the gap for any children showing signs of delay and to also enhance the learning experiences for all children that attend our settings. ‘SchemaPlay have recently created a video to help parents understand what schemes are, and how these can be identified and promoted at home. This nursery is part of a group that provides the most eco-sustainable Early Education and Care in the UK, being respectful of the environment and acting to reduce, re-use and recycle resources is an important part of the culture and routine for the children and staff.

Our Babbacombe day nursery and preschool is one of the 6 Early Education and Care settings within the Tops Day Nurseries family to open in the Torbay and Plymouth area, following Tops Bretonside in Plymouth city centre, Tops Devonport at Green Ark Children’s Centre, Tops Efford at DELL Children’s Centre, Tops Prince Rock and Tops Stonehouse near Wyndham Square. At Tops, we understand a healthy, balanced diet and regular physical activity are essential for children’s health and well-being.
