At our Bournemouth nursery & preschool in Dorset, we pride ourselves in providing challenging, open-ended Early Education and Care, with endless opportunities for the children to explore their environments.
We are based onsite at the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospital, and offer a subsidised rate for RBCH staff.

Our Bournemouth day nursery is one of the largest in the Tops family, and has supported thousands of families with Early Education and Care over the years. We have cared for and watched babies from 3 months old to pre-school children getting ready for ‘big school’.
Our practice is inspired by Reggio Emilia and Scandinavian ethos – we believe that children should be surrounded by beautiful, aesthetic things and exposed to inspirational experiences. We put a big emphasis on the way we teach children and what resources we use. In daily activities, children have opportunities to use their imagination as well as develop critical thinking.
We strongly believe that children must be confident to develop and become curious, inquisitive adults. This is fostered by our carefully selected staff, who pride themselves on building strong relationships with children through our key worker system.
At Tops Day Nurseries our aim is for all children to meet or exceed expected development for their age. We are implementing ‘SchemaPlay’ across all of our settings to help narrow the gap for any children showing signs of delay and to also enhance the learning experiences for all children that attend our settings. ‘SchemaPlay have recently created a video to help parents understand what schemes are, and how these can be identified and promoted at home. We respect children and believe that they deserve the best possible start into their journey of life, that is why we ensure that we provide happy, loving care and education.
We also provide children at Tops our balanced no-added sugar menus that we have designed to support growth and development using the Children’s Food Trust Recommendations.  To view our healthy, nutritious recipes click here.
Tops Bournemouth also implements extra-curricular activities in line with the rest of the Tops Day Nurseries family. For example, Tops Cooking School, Boogie Mites, yoga, tooth brushing, Football Fun and much more!
Our Bournemouth day nursery is one of the four Early Education and Care settings within the Tops Day Nurseries family based in the Bournemouth area, including Tops Boscombe at Wolverton Road, Tops Charminster at Claremont Avenue and Tops Christchurch set in the old Priory Hall.
This nursery is part of a group that provides the most eco-sustainable Early Education and Care in the UK, being respectful of the environment and acting to reduce, re-use and recycle resources is an important part of the culture and routine for the children and staff.

Our fun, friendly and interesting rooms
Whilst your child is in our care we are more than happy for you to call us as often as you like to discuss their childcare or talk to a member of staff about your child and their day at nursery. During your child’s day at nursery we will record important information to share with you, such as sleep times/nappy changes and information about milk/food intake. This information is added to a daily report which is submitted onto EYLOG.

Flexibility
With opening hours, from 6am-8pm including bank holidays, it means we are here when you need us. Offering Education & Care with 15-minute intervals, so you only pay for the childcare you need. (Available at the majority of our nurseries but not all.)
