Welcome to Tops Bretonside, Plymouth

Located in the heart of Plymouth, Tops Bretonside is an ideal nursery for parents and carers living or working in the centre of Plymouth.

Our Bretonside nursery is set in grade II listed terrace row, with some original features inside dating back to the 1800’s.

The nursery has a homely feel to allow easy transitions for children moving between the baby, toddler and pre-school rooms, with a number of exciting resources readily available for them to investigate.

Children have the opportunity to explore nature through the well-utilised garden and mud kitchen. The recently re-vamped rooms in the nursery are constantly changing based on the children’s interests.

Tops Bretonside is situated within a thriving arts community, in close proximity to the Theatre Royal and the Mayflower House of Arts. Children’s natural curiosity can be well catered for with access to numerous sites of historical interest such as the Mayflower Steps Memorial, as well as museums and ancient buildings.

The nearby north quay hosts a stunning aquarium which offers many watery educational activities, as well as -of course- the vast number of boats to watch and ducks to feed!

Although located in the city centre of Plymouth, our Bretonside nursery is not far from the Elizabethan Gardens, with its glorious water fountain, and Hoe Park with its large, green spaces and lighthouse.

We respect children and believe that they deserve best possible start into their journey of life, that is why we ensure that we provide happy, loving care and education. We’d love for you to pop by and see us!

Tops Bretonside nursery is part of a group that provides the most eco-sustainable childcare and education in the UK, being respectful of the environment and acting to reduce, re-use and recycle resources is an important part of the culture and routine for the children and staff.
