The renovated old Priory Hall has been transformed into a beautiful day nursery & preschool in the heart of Christchurch with a stunning custom-designed garden that provides Early Education and Care for children from 3 months – preschool age.

You can view our hourly rates and optional extras on our price list here: Tops Christchurch Price List. Find out more about 2, 3 and 4 year old funding and working tax credits here.

The day nursery benefits from being just a short walk from the priory, the children enjoy being able to go on walks within the local community to feed the ducks, watch the boats, explore the local park and much more. This allows our children to be able to enjoy the outdoors environment through regular outings and trips through our Tops Forest school.

Our open-plan main hall has been split into 2 areas for preschool and over 2’s, which allows an easy transition in moving rooms. A cosy Investigators room hosts the perfect environment for under 2’s to learn and play.

We want all of our children to be independent and inquisitive learners. We place great emphasis on supporting children to develop their confidence and self-esteem and to realise their full potential. Children are encouraged to explore and investigate, to question and to develop their own ideas.

Learning should be fun and learning through play is at the heart of the EYFS. We provide a fun, stimulating and inviting environment where children can experience a wide range of activities and learning opportunities both inside and outside.

We enjoy working in partnership with our parents, carers and families to support their child’s learning at nursery and at home.

At Tops Day Nurseries our aim is for all children to meet or exceed expected development for their age. We are implementing ‘SchemaPlay’ across all of our settings to help narrow the gap for any children showing signs of delay and to also enhance the learning experiences for all children that attend our settings. ‘SchemaPlay have recently created a video to help parents understand what schemes are, and how these can be identified and promoted at home. Watch the full video here’.

Tops Christchurch also implements extra-curricular activities in line with the rest of the Tops Day Nurseries family. For example, Tops Cooking School, Boogie Mites, yoga, tooth brushing, Football Fun and much more!

The children at Tops benefit from our balanced no-added sugar menus that we have designed to support growth and development using the Children’s Food Trust Recommendations.  To view our healthy, nutritious recipes click here.

This nursery is part of a group that provides the most eco-sustainable Early Education and Care in the UK, being respectful of the environment and acting to reduce, re-use and recycle resources is an important part of the culture and routine for the children and staff.

Our Christchurch day nursery is one of the four Early Education and Care settings within the Tops Day Nurseries family based in the Bournemouth area, including Tops Boscombe at Wolverton Road, Tops Bournemouth based at the Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospital and Tops Charminster at Claremont Avenue.
