Our Devonport day nursery & preschool is lucky to be close to the heart of Plymouth in Devonport at Green Ark Children’s Centre– a SureStart Children’s Centre serving Devonport and Stoke.

Nestled on the edge of Devonport Park, a Grade II registered historical site, our nursery in Devonport benefits from being a stones throw from the memorial garden, heritage trail and children’s adventure play park which boasts a sensory garden and is accessible all year.
Not far from Tops Devonport is the multi-sport complex Brickfields Recreation Ground, which offers both indoor and outdoor activities, as well as several sites of historical interest such as Halfpenny Bridge and the Naval Heritage Centre.
Our beautiful nursery has an impressive 3 gardens, designed specifically for babies under 2, 2-3’s and pre-school children. Tops Devonport also hosts a Hi 5’s breakfast and holiday club for children up to the age of 7
At Tops Day Nurseries our aim is for all children to meet or exceed expected development for their age. We are implementing ‘SchemaPlay’ across all of our settings to help narrow the gap for any children showing signs of delay and to also enhance the learning experiences for all children that attend our settings. ‘SchemaPlay have recently created a video to help parents understand what schemes are, and how these can be identified and promoted at home. This nursery is part of a group that provides the most eco-sustainable Early Education and Care in the UK, being respectful of the environment and acting to reduce, re-use and recycle resources is an important part of the culture and routine for the children and staff.
Tops Devonport implements extra-curricular activities in line with the rest of the Tops Day Nurseries family. For example, Tops Cooking School, Boogie Mites, yoga, tooth brushing, Football Fun and much more!

Our Devonport day nursery is one of the 6 Early Education and Care settings within the Tops Day Nurseries family to open in the Plymouth & Torbay area, following Tops Babbacombe in Torquay, Tops Bretonside in Plymouth City Centre, Tops Efford at DELL Children’s Centre, Tops Prince Rock and Tops Stonehouse near Wyndham Square.
Additional Care
Tops Devonport no longer offers a Hi5’s Holiday Club but instead will be offering additional care outside the scheduled hours at the nursery’s standard hourly rate.

Whilst your child is in our care we are more than happy for you to call us as often as you like to discuss their childcare or talk to a member of staff about your child and their day at nursery. During your child’s day at nursery we will record important information to share with you, such as sleep times/nappy changes and information about milk/food intake. This information is added to a daily report which is submitted onto EYLOG.

What makes Tops different?
Flexibility
With opening hours, from 6am-8pm including bank holidays, it means we are here when you need us. Offering Education & Care with 15-minute intervals, so you only pay for the childcare you need. (Available at the majority of our nurseries but not all.)
