Our Winchester nursery and preschool is based onsite at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital. Fun, laughter and learning, our aim is to make your child’s time at nursery as fun and as positive as possible. We believe that children learn best when they feel safe and secure with familiar people and the key person bond is a big part of how we work.

The nursery is built on a hill in Romsey Road and therefore has entrances from street level onto both floors.  The garden accommodates a good range of climbing, balancing and sliding equipment, sand pit, and planting areas and the children are also able to access various attractive outside areas in the hospital grounds as well.

We have achieved SchemaPlay accreditation, to help narrow the gap for any children showing signs of delay and to also enhance the learning experiences for all children that attend our settings. ‘SchemaPlay have recently created a video to help parents understand what schemes are, and how these can be identified and promoted at home. Tops Winchester is an official Gender Action Supporter. Our Nursery is committed to promoting gender equality and making sure no child’s choice is limited by gendered stereotypes.

Teaching the next generation about sustainability is a passion shared across the Tops family, we are delighted to be working with Plastic Free Winchester and Surfers Against Sewage to become a plastic free business champion.
