Ofsted has awarded Tops Day Nursery in Boscombe with a ‘Good’ rating after a recent inspection.
Staff and children have been celebrating receiving the Good rating for all three areas of their nursery in Wolverton Road, Bournemouth.
According to the Ofsted report, an extremely well-planned, nurturing environment awaits every child at the nursery, whilst management and staff take pride in establishing quality play areas with rich, natural resources which meet children’s needs extremely well.
The report noted that children feel welcomed, settled and happy because of the strong emphasis on their wellbeing, and that staff provide an exciting and stimulating play space. It also mentioned that very caring and sensitive staff relate well to the children, who all show that they are confident learners.
The fantastic news comes after the nursery had a newly refurbished garden area and an internal transformation to provide light, spacious, naturally resourced spaces. These areas are perfect for arts and crafts, messy play and getting creative with loose parts play.
The nursery also recently launched Forest School, a unique experience for Pre-school children that allows them to explore the outdoors, teaching them about nature through nature. Tops Boscombe has a new Nursery Manager, Vicki Sedgewick, who has been working at Tops Boscombe since March 2012.
Cheryl Hadland, founder of Tops Day Nurseries said: “We are very proud to receive such a positive Ofsted report for Tops Boscombe. Our hard working staff members do everything they can to support development, ensure safety and provide fun activities for the children. We get extremely positive testimonials from our parents at the nursery, so it’s fantastic that this has been reflected in the recent inspection.”
Oftsed Inspector Loraine Wardlaw said: “A high drive by the passionate, knowledgeable management team, coupled with an extremely strong focus on staff performance and coaching, has raised the quality of teaching and learning to a consistently good level. Pre-school children receive high quality teaching, particularly during specific activities such as forest school and cookery school.”
Tops Day Nurseries in Boscombe caters for children from 3 months until they are ready to start school. They also run a Mini Beasts club for 5-11 year olds.
