Pier-to-Pier charity walks get underway

014Children, staff and parents from our nurseries in Portsmouth, Lakeside, Charminster and Bournemouth all took part in a pier-to-pier sponsored walk raising money for the Hadland Foundation.

The teams from Tops Portsmouth and Tops Lakeside put on their wellies, determined not to let the wet weather beat them, and walked from the South Parade Pier to Clarence Pier. They were joined by Portsmouth Mayor, Cllr Steven Wylie who started the race off with a little help from the Tops Day Nurseries’ mascot, Marty the Mouse.

In the same week, Tops Charminster and Tops Bournemouth teams faced high winds during their walk from Boscombe to Bournemouth pier but completed their walk with big smiles on their faces.

The children went back to nursery very proud of what they had achieved and couldn’t wait to show off their medals!

Paul Reade from the Hadland Foundation commented: Thank you to everyone involved – the children were fantastic doing their sponsored walk, and we couldn’t have done it without the kind support of the parents, carers and Tops staff. We all had a fun, and we even had the sun shining down on us once we got started. Thank you to everyone involved, all money raised goes to the Hadland Foundation supporting families in need.”
