Plant and Share Month

Plant and Share Month is a celebration of growing your own food. From 19 April – 19 May 2021, Food for Life are encouraging children across the nation to dig, discover and share the seeds of friendship with homegrown produce.

Food for Life Get Togethers are regular community activities that connect people from all ages and backgrounds through growing, cooking and eating good food.

At Tops we share the same values by offering healthy, no-added sugar menus throughout our nurseries and growing our own herbs and vegetables with the children. We use water from the water butt, meaning children can sample their home grown produce during snack and meal times.

So, whether you get children to grow food in yoghurt pots on the windowsill or you have a space in your garden to grow all kind of fruit and veg, Plant and Share Month is for all Early Years settings. It’s easy to get involved:

  1. Plant your seeds
  2. Help the seeds grow
  3. Share what you have done
