Its Roald Dahl Day!

Tuesday 13th September 2016 marks Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday, and Tops Day Nurseries have a variety of marvellous activities planned throughout the day and invite the children to dress up as a Roald Dahl book character for the day.

At Tops Musgrove, Tops Parkstone, Tops Poole and Tops Boscombe, the Nest and Explorer children will be taking part in James and the Giant Peach activities including peach painting and taking part in peach themed cooking activities.

Meanwhile at Tops Newport, The Nest and Explorer children will be taking part in Fantastic Mr Fox activities exploring our woodland wonderland as well as collaging our own Mr Fox’s. At Tops Winchester they will be taking part in making BFG dream jars and exploring Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory messy play. Tops Bournemouth will be celebrating with the younger age groups by having a dressing up party in the garden with a story time and singing.

The investigators children have a variety of activities to look forward to today, including taking part in a sensory activity exploring Mr Twits beard at Tops Parkstone, experiments with George’s Marvellous Medicines, coloured worms and making BFG ears and dream jars at Tops Charminster and dressing up as characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We will also be playing with chocolate play dough, a chocolate river of gloop, designing our own chocolates and will be having chocolate hunt around the garden at Tops Bournemouth.

Preschool children at Tops Charminster will be making BFG ears and a dream cave as well as making Matilda’s reading corner and Willy Wonka hats, whilst children from Tops Bournemouth will be going on a trip to the cinema to watch The BFG, followed by a picnic in the gardens. Preschool 1 and 2 will be going to the cinema to see The BFG. The trip will cost £8.50 per child. After the cinema the children will have a picnic in the gardens

Many more activities will take place throughout the day, so be sure to keep an eye on the nursery Facebook pages for lots of photos!
