Royal Birthday Celebrations at Tops Bournemouth

Today marks the 90th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, and the nurseries are very excited!

Today, the Queen will unveil a plaque marking the start of a four-mile Queen’s Walkway at the foot of Castle Hill in Windsor. It connects 63 points of interest in the town, commemorating the Queen’s achievement in becoming our longest-reigning monarch after more than 63 years in 2015.

Staff and children at Tops Bournemouth will be attending a ‘street party’ in the nursery’s main garden with cakes and music. Parents and carers are invited to attend to share some child-friendly punch and play traditional English games such as boules, skittles and croquet.

Celebrating royal events forms part of the British Values standard the nurseries provide to children. The children are able to learn about the Royal Family and the history of Britain, which ties in with the Early Years requirement on teaching the fundamental British values, which are democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths.
