A Royal surprise at Tops Boscombe!

Children at Tops Boscombe had a royal surprise this week when they received a thank you letter and card from Buckingham Palace!

To celebrate the Queens 90th Birthday last week, the children from the Nest, Explorers, Investigators and Pre-school made birthday cards to post to Buckingham Palace. The children then made sandwiches and scones for afternoon tea, created wonderful, shiny crowns to wear and the role play area was turned into a castle, with a throne to sit on.

When the letter was received, it was shared amongst the children for them to look at and read. The letter read:

“To all the staff and children at Tops Day Nursery,

The Queen wishes me to thank you for the splendid cards which you have sent on the occasion of Her Majesty’s ninetieth birthday.

Although unable to reply to you personally, The Queen was very touched by the care you have each taken to make your lovely cards for her and Her Majesty greatly appreciates your kind words.

I am to send you The Queen’s best wishes and renewed thanks for your thought of Her Majesty at this time.

Phillipa De Pass

Lady-In-Waiting”

The children were so excited because “the queen saw our card” and “she really, really liked it.”

The letter from the Lady-In-Waiting was also accompanied by a thank you card, with a photo of the queen inside.

The letter will soon be on display for everyone to see in the reception area of the nursery. To find out more about Tops Boscombe, please click here.
