Tops Havant are proud to introduce our new story packs, which the children are encouraged to take home and read with their families. We feel that it is important to encourage reading and story time with children as this promotes brain development, imagination, and teaches them about language and emotions.
The children will learn to value books and stories as well as spark their imaginations and stimulate curiosity.
Within the story packs, we have provided a bookmark and a notebook so that any comments the children do make can be written down, so we can then extend their interests whilst they are with us in the nursery.
Once the book has been returned the child’s key worker will hold a conversation about the story to recall the child’s favourite part and a sticker will be placed on the bookmark. When the bookmark is full, the child will get to take it home.
Here is lovely a comment from one of our parents; “We have loved the three books our little one has had. He also particularly enjoyed the book that he could read. It has been good to be able to ask him which bit was the best bit and he loves getting a sticker for each one we return”
