This event is an incredible opportunity to teach the children about fascinating marine life and its overall importance to the planet. Additionally, we can focus on ways to keep marine life safe and protected. Here are a few ways Tops Day Nurseries are celebrating.
National Marine Week is a UK-wide celebration of our spectacular seas, shining a spotlight on the fantastic marine life and costal habitats. Held each summer, this special week encourages people to explore, appreciate, and protect our oceans. From activities like beach cleaning to wildlife walks, it is a perfect time to connect with nature and learn how everyone can play a part in safeguarding our planet.
During National Marine Week, our nurseries will be buzzing with ocean-themed activities that are encouraging curiosity within marine life. Children will take part in a journey through the sea with storytelling sessions and learning about the varied types of sea animals, from magical dolphins to deep sea dwellers. We will also have many arts and crafts activities where children can bring their imaginations to life, creating their own sea creatures, such as paper plate fish, seashells and necklaces using recycled and reusable materials.
As a nursery, we are inviting our families to join in with these marine life celebrations! We are encouraging parents and guardians to engage in marine-themed activities at home, like participating in beach clean ups, visiting aquariums or even just discussing the importance of keeping our marine life safe and protected. We will also share many fun activities across our social media pages to keep everyone informed and involved in National Marine Week.
