We are excited to announce that Tops Day Nurseries were awarded first place at the annual Corfe Mullen carnival!
Staff, parents and children from Tops Wimborne and Tops Corfe Mullen attended the event, sporting a huge 45ft float decorated to tie in with the theme of supporting World Ocean Day 2017.
The float was decorated in banners and nets that had been scattered with litter to show the damage that is being caused to our oceans and beaches. The children had created beautiful marine animals out of recycled materials to display alongside these. The children and staff had dressed to impress, wearing handmade masks, hats and outfits of fabulous fish and magical mermaids.
Bubbles surrounded the float as it made its way down the carnival procession route, before reaching Corfe Mullen Recreation Ground where the winning floats were announced. Tops Day Nurseries were awarded first place within their category as well as winning first place overall!
When the carnival judges asked the children to explain their choice of theme for the float, they all gave confident answers and were able to explain the cause and reason for their choice.
