Welcome Tops Fawley!

Tops Day Nurseries opened its doors this week to children aged 0-8 in Heather Road, Fawley.  The site has had a chequered past with the Local Authority run Children’s Centre and Blackfield Pre-School being obliged to close for financial reasons.

The building has had its layout re-designed to increase security for the children and also provide more open plan play space and free flow to the garden, it’s been redecorated, re-floored and freshly equipped, to provide beautiful, calm, interiors, with a special “nest” area for babies, an under 2s room (Explorers), 2s room (Investigators), pre-school and out of school “High 5s” Club for school age to 8 year olds.

Cheryl Hadland, Founder of Tops Day Nurseries says “We are delighted to have won this opportunity, but sadly in the first week we have already been attacked twice by local vandals overnight, destroying the gardens that we have been so carefully establishing for the children, throwing stones at the shuttered windows. It is so sad when we are trying to provide the best possible environments and opportunities for the local community’s youngest children.  I call on all neighbours and responsible citizens to help us stop this pointless destruction.  Security lighting has not helped, so we are putting CCTV in.

We have a lovely, experienced and highly qualified manager in place already, Kirsten Hill, who lives locally, a deputy manager and apprentice.  We are recruiting now for more caring, responsible people to teach and care for the babies and children who are already booking in and starting in the next few weeks and beyond.  The nursery would love to welcome parents and carers, potential staff and volunteers, to come and have a look, and let us listen to what you need so we can serve you the best way we can.”

Tops Day Nurseries provide top quality, teaching and care for the youngest children, and are flexible to suit families, including taking shift bookings, and bookings to the nearest quarter hour, early starts and late finishes.  A key part of the ethos is to provide sustainable education, so all purchasing is done carefully, avoiding one use plastic, looking for good quality, long lasting equipment, but also recycling and repairing, and using scrap stores for materials, to keep waste and impact on the environment as low as possible.

If you have any questions or wish to arrange a visit please call Kirsten on 07785 455417 or drop in to Heather Road, Fawley, SO45 1DZ.
