Tops graduation – Waving goodbye to our pre-schoolers

This month we sadly have had to say a fond farewell to a number of our Pre-school children as they take their next steps onto ‘big school’.

To celebrate the occasion each of the nurseries in our family held a Pre-school graduation ceremony. The children proudly took to the podium wearing their mortar board hats where they were presented with their certificates. Some of our nurseries also had a visit from Marty the Mouse, our Tops Day Nursery mascot, who was there to congratulate the children alongside the nursery manager and Pre-school staff.

Graduation ceremonies can be quite emotional for both staff and parents. Some of the practitioners that said goodbye to the children during their ceremonies were the same staff that welcomed the children into nursery on their first day.

Sarah Baseley, Pre-school Room Manager has been based at Tops Wimborne since 2007. During this time Sarah has built up close relationships with the children and has been there to see the children grow into the people they are today. One parent in their thank you letter wrote:

“You turned an itty bitty bundle of joy into a kind, curious, courageous human being. Thank you.”

After the tears were wiped away and the certificates were presented it was time for everyone to enjoy the day with various activities and games including face painting, pass the parcel, picnics and even magicians!

Good luck to all our Pre-school children during their next big step. We hope you enjoy your new adventures, and please come back and see us!
