We’re thrilled to share that our wonderful Tops Lakeside nursery has achieved the Bronze OMEP Accreditation for Sustainability and Global Citizenship!
This recognition celebrates our commitment to embedding sustainability into everything we do, from the way we run our nursery environment to the learning opportunities we create for children every single day. It’s a huge step forward in our mission of growing minds for a greener future.
We believe that even the youngest children can play a vital role in caring for the world around them at Tops Lakeside. Achieving the Bronze OMEP Accreditation demonstrates how we’ve successfully woven sustainability and global citizenship into our daily practice.
Our dedicated team has completed specialist training to make sustainability meaningful for little ones, designing age-appropriate, hands-on learning experiences that empower children to make a difference.
From recycling and water-saving projects, to gardening and exploring the natural world, children at Lakeside are learning through play how to protect their planet and care for each other. These small everyday actions grow into big life values.
Our Nursery Manager, Lucy Pemberton, shared her pride:

The OMEP framework supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which align perfectly with our PROTECT curriculum at Tops. By embedding these values from the earliest age, we’re helping raise children who are curious, compassionate, and confident global citizens.
