apprenticeTops Lymington, based at All Saints Church hall has recently welcomed a new apprentice to the team, Amber.

Amber made the choice to take her first step towards her career in childcare by starting an apprenticeship, which would see her working towards a Level 2 qualification in Childcare. Amber started this career journey in hope to make a difference in the lives of the children she would care for, in an area she strives to progress in.

Laura Doe, Nursery Manager said “Amber has already proven to be an asset to the team. She has built such strong bonds with children not only in the Explorers unit, but throughout the nursery.”

Amber is currently working towards her qualification with Dorset based provider, Aspire Training Team. The Level 2 programme provides learners with the knowledge and skills required to work in a childcare setting at an assistant level. The course involves learning about all aspects of children’s care and development, with mandatory units which include; an introduction to communication, personal development, equality and inclusion, development and safeguarding.

Amber said “In the short time I have worked for Tops, I have absolutely loved coming to work. The children and staff
have been so welcoming and I feel I have learnt so much already from the experience. Upon completing my apprenticeship, I would love to move on to complete my level 3 qualification and progress up through the nursery.”

Tops Lymington caters for children aged 3 months to school age, and is open 52 weeks a year including bank holidays. To find out more about training opportunities or childcare availability, please call 01590 676297.
