This year marks the 30th anniversary since the first Tops Day Nursery opened in Herbert Avenue, Parkstone. Since its opening in 1990, Tops has grown to a family of 30 nurseries with over 3,000 children in our care.
To celebrate, Tops Parkstone hosted a tea party and welcomed previous parents, children and staff members to reunite and reminisce about their times at Tops.
The children took part in various tea party themed activities, enjoyed a tea party themed picnic and blew out the candles on their birthday cake after singing a big happy birthday to Tops Parkstone.
Over the last 30 years, hundreds of children have spent many years with us with many coming back as staff members themselves. Everyone shared their favourite stories about how much the nursery has changed and loved looking through old photographs, especially seeing how much the nursery and staff have changed!
Many staff members who attended the nursery as children stayed in the Tops family, returning as practitioners and managers. Amy Drudge attended the nursery in 1993 and is now deputy manager of the nursery and even staff members from head office who came to the party remember starting their journey at Parkstone.
Tops Parkstone has made incredible milestones over the years, from refurbishments, awards, burying a time capsule 5 years ago to receiving an ‘Oustanding nursery’ rating from Ofsted. We cannot wait to see what the future brings for Tops Parkstone!
