Tops Southsea: The Big Toddle

Children at Tops Southsea have been stepping up for a great cause. They have raised over £160 for Barnardo’s through the charity’s annual Big Toddle fundraising event.

Over the course of two weeks, children from all age groups at Tops Southsea took part in sponsored walks. It gave them the chance to enjoy outdoor adventures while supporting vulnerable children and young people across the UK.

The event brought together the entire nursery community. It encouraged children to stay active, explore their local environment, and learn about the importance of helping others. Staff supported children throughout the fundraising challenge, ensuring the experience was enjoyable, inclusive, and educational for everyone involved.

Exploring the Community Through the Big Toddle

The Barnardo’s Big Toddle is a popular fundraising initiative designed specifically for young children. It encourages little ones to take part in sponsored walks while developing an understanding of kindness, teamwork, and community spirit.

At Tops Southsea, children embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, regardless of the weather. Their walks provided valuable opportunities to connect with the local community while learning more about the world around them.

“Our children recently enjoyed taking part in a sponsored walk to raise money for Barnardo’s Big Toddle. The children were excited to get out into the local community, exploring the world around them while supporting a fantastic cause.

Despite the rainy weather, the children embraced the experience, splashing in puddles, talking about the rain, and observing the different colours they could see in the sky. The walk provided lots of opportunities for conversation, discovery, and learning about the natural environment.

We are incredibly proud of the children’s enthusiasm and participation. Through their Big Toddle walk, they are helping to raise valuable funds for Barnardo’s, supporting vulnerable children and young people across the UK.

Tops Southsea: Learning Through Real-Life Experiences

The sponsored walks offered far more than just fundraising opportunities.
