Tops Sturminster is officially ‘Good’!

Tops Good0001Tops Sturminster is celebrating after Ofsted has awarded the nursery its ‘Good’ status following an unannounced inspection this October.

‪This was the first inspection since October 2013 and Ofsted noted some very positive elements to the practice at the nursery.

Ofsted Inspector Bridget Copson said: “Children make good progress in relation to their starting points because staff plan and monitor children’s learning accurately and provide activities in response to children’s interests.

“Management and staff strive to maintain continuous improvements. As a result, children benefit from the many improvements since the last inspection.”

The report also noted that the children are cared for by consistent staff in a safe and nurturing environment. As a result, they form warm and trusting relationships with the staff at Tops Sturminster.

Cheryl Hadland, managing director of Tops Day Nurseries, said: “We’re delighted that Ofsted has recognised us as a ‘good’ care provider. We have a number of very happy children attend Tops Sturminster and this is down to the team at the nursery who create such a loving environment for the children to learn and develop in.

“This was our first inspection from Ofsted since October last year, and we are pleased that the nursery has been recognised for its hard work and commitment to providing quality childcare.”

The nursery was also praised for promoting healthy lifestyles effectively, as the children enjoy healthy and well-balanced meals, which are freshly prepared each day by the new nursery chef.

Tops Sturminster caters for children from 3 months old up to pre-school age, and children 5 – 11 years in the Mini Beasts Play Club. The nursery became part of the Tops Day Nurseries family in June 2013 and provides flexible childcare to the local community.
