Wimborne nursery first to trial electric vehicle

With an electric car, there are fewer moving parts than traditional vehicles. Due to this, Tops’ Wimborne’s new Nissan E-NV200 will need less servicing attention, which will ultimately result in less money being spent on repairs and allowing more money to spend on resources for the children. Here at Tops’ Wimborne we have our own electric charging point, the power from our solar panels will be used to charge the car.

Cheryl Hadland, Managing Director of Tops Day Nurseries said “I am very pleased with our latest investment. Having the cars is another step forward for the company in furthering our goal of sustainability. Tops Day Nurseries already provide the most eco-sustainable childcare and education in the UK, so it is ideal to continue this practice on the move. Being respectful of the environment and acting to reduce, re-use and recycle resources is an important part of the culture and routine for the children and staff.”

We are all very excited to start using the new car.
