Today is World Book Day, an annual event organised by UNESCO, to celebrate authors, illustrators, books and, most importantly, reading itself. It’s the biggest celebration of its kind reaching over 100 countries across the world.
This year, the staff and children at Tops Day Nurseries have been invited to spend the day dressed as their favourite book character.
We have had lots of fantastic characters arrive at the doors of every setting within the Tops family, including Where’s Wally, Spiderman, The Cat In The Hat and Queen Elsa.
Each setting provided a range of activities to explore. At Tops Sturminster, a small world area was set up based on one of the children’s favourite book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar as well as the Three Little Pigs and The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
Tops Winchester had set up the Three Bear’s Cottage in the role play area and even had a visit from Goldilocks! They also had small world areas based on the stories ‘Dear Zoo’ and ‘Who’s got the spots’.
Children in Explorers 1 at Tops Bournemouth made their own story books to take home, and some children brought in their own story books to share with their friends.
Thank you to everyone that got involved across the Tops Day Nurseries family, more pictures can be found on the Tops Day Nurseries Facebook pages. If you would like to visit one of our nurseries, please click here to arrange a visit.
