World Down’s Syndrome Day at Tops Bournemouth

Wednesday the 21st of March marked World Down’s Syndrome Day and here at Tops Day Nurseries, we believe that Diversity and acceptance is important. We incorporate many different activities that promote diversity within the children’s everyday lives.

Children at Tops Bournemouth celebrated World Down’s Syndrome Day by incorporating the theme “Lots of socks” into their activities today. They have been pegging socks to a washing line, decorating socks using chalk and wore odd socks to show their friends.

They spoke about diversity and how we are all unique and special in lots of ways. One child said to a practitioner “You have glasses on your head but we don’t have glasses”. Another said “I like paw patrol but you like Spiderman”.

We love celebrating diversity and individuality here at Tops, both through our celebrations and in our everyday life. Happy World Down Syndrome Day to all.
