World Environment Day

World Environment Day is here! Established in 1972 and run by the United Nations, the aim of the day is to raise awareness of the environment and environmental issues around the world, ranging from pollution, to global warming, protection of wildlife and sustainable food production.

World Environment Day is hugely important for Tops Day Nurseries. As an eco-sustainable company we want to ensure we are leaving a positive footprint on the world, and shaping the way our children think and respect our environment!

Beach cleans and the “Glitter Ban” are not the only things Tops Day Nurseries’ have been part of. Among many things the company’s sustainability goal has seen the reduction of single use plastics and focus on natural resources throughout all of our nursery settings. We’ve invested in bamboo toothbrushes, electric cars, and solar panels to name a few.

Whilst some of these environmental issues may seem complex and non-impactful on our daily lives, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Glaciers are melting, air pollution is all around us, and our oceans are still filled with plastics.

We want to encourage everyone to get involved and do their bit for the planet, no matter how big or small. It doesn’t take a handful of perfect people to make a difference, rather a world of imperfect people trying to make a difference.
